THE REGISTER-GUARD – Long before he was mentoring some of the top amateur basketball players in the world, Marshall Cho fell in love with the sport growing up in Springfield. Now, the renowned Portland-based coach is looking to give back to his hometown and bolster the basketball community that sparked his passion for the game.

KPTV FOX 12 – Some of the best teenage hoopers from the states and around the globe were in Rip City for the 26th annual Nike Hoop Summit on Saturday. The World Select Team is headed for a second year by Marshall Cho, who grew up in Springfield and now calls Lake Oswego home.

KOIN 6 – Some of the best and brightest high school seniors in the country will play for Team USA at the Nike Hoop Summit on Saturday. But on the other side, Team World will be coached by one of Portland’s best and brightest. “At this stage in my life, I really want to focus on being a bridge between our hometown and the rest of the world,” said former Lake Oswego boys basketball head coach Marshall Cho.

OREGON LIVE – There will be some Oregon representation in the men’s game at the upcoming Nike Hoop Summit. USA Basketball announced on Friday morning that Marshall Cho has been named the head coach for the World Select team at the upcoming senior all-star game at the Moda Center.

THE OREGONIAN – As the 2024 Nike Hoop Summit began, Marshall Cho had to take it all in. Cho has Oregon in his veins. He was raised in Springfield. He went to college at the University of Oregon and has coached basketball at almost every level in the state. But on Saturday, Cho had a new career highlight. He was the head coach of the World Select team at the Nike Hoop Summit.

FOX12 OREGON – The Nike Hoop Summit is this weekend as they celebrate their silver anniversary with some of the best seniors in the U.S. and internationally in Portland for Nike’s 25th annual world all-star game. This is Marshall Cho’s first year as the men’s World Team head coach.

OREGON SCHOOL ACTIVITIES ASSOCIATION – Marshall Cho resigned as Lake Oswego's coach last week, saying he has come to a 'natural pause' in his coaching career. Cho, 46, said he wants to spend more time with his children – son Nene and daughter Emma, who are in the seventh and fourth grades, respectively. He also wants to have the flexibility to entertain other opportunities in basketball.

SPORTS ILLUSTRATED – Alex Toohey has become a fixture on Australia’s international basketball teams. In early April, he represented his home country as a member of the Team World roster at the Nike Hoop Summit in Portland. He will continue playing in the U.S. next season, having committed to Gonzaga. “He’s going to succeed in whatever position he’s in,” said Lake Oswego head coach Marshall Cho, who coached Toohey as an assistant for Team World.

THE OREGONIAN – Just over a month ago, Marshall Cho stood courtside in the Lake Oswego High School gym, huddling up with players like Winters Grady and Max Archambo. This past week, Cho found himself working with some of the best basketball players in the world.

LAKE OSWEGO REVIEW – Lake Oswego's Sam Abere was named TRL Defensive Player of the Year, Marshall Cho was named TRL Coach of the Year and Casey Graver was one of two Lakers named to the all-league first team.

LAKE OSWEGO REVIEW – In addition to winning a second straight Three Rivers League title, Lake Oswego earned its first state tournament berth since 2013 and eventually finished third there. In addition, Lakers' head coach Marshall Cho was named Three Rivers League Coach of the Year after leading his team to first place and an 11-1 record.

LAKE OSWEGO REVIEW – The Three Rivers League announced its 2018 all-league teams last week, with top honors going to Tualatin senior Player of the Year Alexis Angeles, Lake Oswego junior Defensive Player of the Year Sam Abere, and Lake Oswego Coach of the Year Marshall Cho.

KPTV – He was a high school hooper in Springfield who thought he might become an accountant, but instead, Marshall Cho remained in the game in a variety of coaching roles around the globe. The Lakers are being led into the future under a young head coach who is well-traveled. Born in South Korea but raised on hoops in Oregon, Marshall Cho is the leader of the Lake Show.

LAKE OSWEGO REVIEW – Lake Oswego head basketball coach Marshall Cho has big plans for the program in the coming years. Cho has an impressive background, being heavily involved with USA basketball at the youth level, and some of those connections are coming to Lake Oswego next month as part of the Youth Coach Academy.

DAT WINNING –In May 2015, Marshall Cho was hired as the head basketball coach at Lake Oswego High School in Portland, OR. Cho, the former Director of Basketball Operations at University of Portland and assistant basketball coach at powerhouse DeMatha High School in Maryland, is the first Asian American head basketball coach in Lake Oswego's 65-year history.
